This weekly 1.5 hour class is intended to give newcomers to meditation an opportunity to try it out for themselves, and experienced meditators an opportunity to deepen their practice in a group setting. Those new to meditation will be given instruction and support necessary to begin. The seated meditation (Zazen) is unguided (no words are spoken during meditation), with a focus on breath awareness. The walking meditation (Kinhin) consists of synchronized slow walking in a line while maintaining breath awareness.  The meditation periods are delineated by the sound of a small bowl gong. Sitting cushions are provided, and please wear loose fitting pants if you wish to sit on cushions on the floor. If you have a cushion of your own, feel free to bring it. Chairs will be provided for those who prefer to sit in a chair.  All are welcome to stay after if there are any questions regarding Zen practice.
