Helping students select suitable topics for semester- or year-long research projects can be daunting. The ideal topic is interesting to the student, conversant with disciplinary conversations, limited in scope (but not too limited), and doable in the given time frame. In this session, we will learn some best practices gleaned from teaching and learning experts about how to guide students toward excellent research topics.
