Design, Media, and the Arts (DMA) is a Lafayette academic planning initiative that bridges the divide between the Arts and STEM disciplines, preparing students to participate in some of the most contemporary interdisciplinary fields. This symposium will highlight the DMA work already conducted by Lafayette faculty and students. Participants will also be invited to help plan the next steps in developing the DMA initiative. Keynotes and round tables will be held throughout the day. Guest keynote speakers include Krista Caballero, an interdisciplinary artist and Associate Director of Bard College's Center for Experimental Humanities, and Silvia Casini, Professor of Film, Visual Culture, and Medical Humanities at the University of Aberdeen. Professor Ed Kerns will be giving a keynote lecture during the lunch hour. All those interested in learning more about DMA and substantive Arts-STEM collaboration are welcome to attend any of the day's events as their schedule allows.
