 ophysical Union. He is the \nrecipient of many prestigious academic awards
  including the Seligman Crystal\, \nthe Louis Agassiz Medal\, the Tyler Pr
 ize for Environmental Achievement\, and \nmany others too numerous to list
  in this note. Richard is the author of The \nTwo Mile Time Machine: Ice C
 ores\, Abrupt Climate Change\, and Our Future\, and \nmost recently\, Eart
 h: The Operators Manual\, a companion volume to the 3-part\nPBS series of 
 the same name. Richard routinely testifies before committees\nof the U.S. 
 Congress and the U.S. Senate on issues of climate change. He is\na member 
 of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change\, and as such\, is\none o
 f many co-recipients of the 2007 Nobel Prize.
