Applications are now available for KIC Staff for POSP 2019, and all students in the class of 2020, 2021, and 2022 are invited to apply!

What is POSP? Lafayette’s Pre-Orientation Service Program welcomes incoming first-year students early and is coordinated by current Lafayette students under the advisement of Landis Center professional staff. The program takes place for five days prior to New Student Orientation. POSP 2018 will run from Friday, August 16th through Thursday, August 22nd. Accepted first-year students are placed into one of five service projects. In addition to service, students engage in activities that introduce them to Lafayette’s campus and the city of Easton. More information can be found on our website (https://sites.lafayette.edu/posp/).

So, what is KIC staff? One of the five service projects of POSP is our Kids in the Community (KIC) Camp. KIC Camp is a three-day summer camp on Lafayette’s campus for the children of Easton. KIC staff members contribute to the planning and execution of the camp, as well as coordinate specific activities (art, sports, music, etc.). KIC staff members also serve as mentors for the first-year students and are fully immersed as staff for the program as a whole.

Strong applicants will have demonstrated leadership and experience in service-related activities or organizations. One does NOT need to have prior experience with the POSP program to be considered for a position on KIC staff!

Applications for KIC Staff must be submitted electronically by 6:00 PM on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17. Applications will be screened, and applicants invited to interview for a position will be contacted with more information by February 23.

To apply, use the following link: https://lafayettec.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d0hAnpSFQFixssl. This survey will prompt you to upload a Word document, saved with your first and last name (First.Last.doc), with your answers to the five main application questions.

You will also be asked a final question directly on Qualtrics before submitting the application, so please leave yourself ample time before the application deadline.

A detailed list of responsibilities for students on KIC Staff can be found on the POSP website (https://sites.lafayette.edu/posp/). Expectations include: Attendance at planning meetings this semester, preparation of programming outlines, including supply lists, training as needed, and full participation in POSP Training & Program.

Please do not hesitate to contact one of the KIC Directors or Amber Zuber (zubera@lafayette.edu), Director of the Landis Center, with any questions.
