Parent based interventions that encourage parents to talk to their college-aged children about alcohol are an increasing popular approach for addressing risky college alcohol use. There is, however, little research exploring what types of parental messages are most effective at promoting healthy drinking behaviors. This talk will explore different parent messages about alcohol and what this research means for parent based interventions addressing college drinking.
