Description: Democracy around the world is facing new challenges that derive not from external threats but from the very choices made by voters themselves. From the United States to India, and just recently in Brazil, leaders are being elected that confront the fundamental democratic principles. This panel will discuss the common international patterns of this phenomenon – and their implications for the future.
