Dr. Jeromie Ballreich will present on the field of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). The talk will include an introduction to the field, careers in HEOR, and the Master’s program in HEOR at Johns Hopkins University. He will also talk about some of his current research: an ongoing clinical study of bone fixation in severe leg fractures, and the economics of hepatitis C.  Both projects will provide attendees a look at some HEOR methodologies and their importance in a policy context.

Dr. Jeromie Ballreich is an Assistant Scientist and Director of the Master’s in Health Economics and Outcomes Research program at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHBSPH).  His current research focuses on HEOR applications and pharmaceutical policy within the U.S.  He has collaborated with scholars across disciplines, and his peer-reviewed work has been published in New England Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Managed Care, and other academic journals.  He received his Ph.D. in Health Economics from JHBSPH with a thesis in “Price Discrimination in the US Cancer Drug Market.” Previously, Dr. Ballreich received a Master’s in Health Economics also from JHBSPH and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Economics from Lafayette College.
