An exceptionally well-curated slate of short films from regional, national, and international filmmakers that spans all genres, Movies at the Mill (MME) is a film festival created to aid in the redevelopment of the city of Easton under the support of Easton mayor, Salvatore J. Panto, Jr., the direction of filmmaker Gershon Hinkson, and the commitment of its countless volunteers and sponsors. The festival day will start with MME’s signature networking event, a seminar series highlighted by award-winning filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist, Julian Schnabel with a talk entired, “The Art of Filmmaking.” Schnabel's catalogue of films inlcude Basquiat about the life of neo-expressionist artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, which earned Best Director of the Year at the2007 Cannes Film Festival, about a French magazine editor who suffers a stroke, and Before Night FallsMiral, and his current directorial effort At Eternity’s Gate, about the life of Vincent van Gogh.

The festival grounds at Silk will open at 6 p.m. Festival-goers will have access to all of the site's business, retail, and dining options. 

Other highlights of the evening include an array of both savory and sweet concessions provided by the best in Easton restaurants such as Sette Luna and Ocean, as well as the new businesses located at Silk, live music, a DJ, tours of both the adjacent Karl Stirner Arts Trail and of the apartments of Silk, and a VIP lounge.
