Rabbi Steve Golden '86
Rabbi Steve Golden ‘86, Lafayette alumnus, will join us for Purim to lead a Megillah reading (4pm), followed by a dinner and text study (5pm) on Jewish perspectives on cursing and hatred. How can Jews claim to be a righteous people and still call for the destruction of heretics, wicked people, and our enemies, as we do in our sacred texts? How can we justify this kind of language in a post-9/11 world? We will examine together the original texts and discuss alternatives for dealing with them.
