Raphaëlle Boitel
When Angels Fall

The young French choreographer, director, and aerial mastermind Raphaëlle Boitel is author and architect of a new form of theater that transports the imagination to unprecedented heights. In When Angels Fall, a dystopia in which humans cling tenuously to nature unfolds against a cinematic dreamscape shaped by light and shadow. With extraordinary physical prowess and the derring-do of great circus artists, performers fly, glide, soar, and dance on the edge of a vanishing civilization. Are humans predisposed to self-destruction? Envisioning the future is sometimes the best way to talk about the present.
