With an “extraordinary display of sumptuous vocal tone, regal phrasing, and technical agility” (San Francisco Chronicle), soprano Leah Crocetto has quickly ascended the operatic ladder with her moving portrayals of the form’s greatest heroines. A first-place winner in the 2010 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, she traverses the major lyric and spinto roles with ease, mesmerizing audiences in career-making performances of Aïda, Luisa Miller, Leonora (Il trovatore), Mimi (La bohème), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Liù (Turandot), in song repertoire, and on the concert stage. At her Williams Center debut, Ms. Crocetto and accompanist Mark Markham will perform works by Respighi, Poulenc, and Rachmaninoff, a new song cycle by Gregory Peebles, and American standards by Gershwin, Arlen, Rodgers, and Fain.
