Everyone is invited to join us for an evening of spectaular percussion!  The concert opens with a stage loaded with djembes (African hand drums) filling the air with pulsating rhythms.  As the evening progresses, we will transtion from marimbas, vibraphones, gongs, bells, Chinese, Japanese, African, and Latin-American instruments into a cacaphony of timbres.  The grand finale will feature the entire ensemble playing the thundering rhythms of Japanese drums, re-creating an atmosphere of energy and joy.  This can serve as a great introduction to taiko drumming, setting the stage for the appearance of KODO in March.  Alumni Percussion Ensemble members will also be joing us for our biennial reunion.  Tickets are free and available at the Williams Center Box office.
