Join us for an ice cream social, featuring a poetry reading by the judge of the Jean Corrie Poetry Competition, Leslieann Hobayan, and the winner of the competition, Emily Lugos. An open reading follows.  Bring a poem to read!  After the open reading, pizza will be served while we enjoy an informal discussion about writing with Leslieann Hobayan.   

Leslieann Hobayan’s poetry has appeared widely, including in The Rumpus, The New York Quarterly, Growing Up Filipino II, Babaylan: An Anthology of Filipina and Filipina-AmericanWriters, and Pinoy Poetics. She is a 1995 graduate of Lafayette College and a recipient of a James Merrill Fellowship for Poetry and a Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation Writing Fellowship. She teaches at Rutgers University.

The Jean Corrie Poetry Competition is an Academy of American Poets Prize.
