Lafayette Symposium Speaker: Sigal Ben-Porath, “Free Speech on Campus”

Professor Ben-Borath is author of the 2017 book Free Speech in Campus, in which she “writes about the concept of ‘inclusive freedom,’ in which colleges affirm not only free speech, but also ‘an inclusive environment,’ in which people from all perspectives and groups are respected,” says Inside Higher Education. Ben-Porath has been teaching in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania since 2004. She is executive committee member of the Andrea Mitchell Center for the Study of Democracy, and the chair of the faculty advisory board for Penn Press. From 2012-2013 she was affiliated with the Safra Center for Ethics at Tel Aviv University. She is currently an associate member of the political science department and the philosophy department at Penn.
