SET is a card game that has a lot of mathematical implications (as well as being just plain fun!). However, many of the questions that mathematicians, and even non-mathematicians, like to ask about the game can’t be answered by simple calculations. It is because of this that we have turned to a computer to do our work for us. In particular, we model a typical game of SET in Java, producing simulations that hopefully lead us to the answers we are seeking. Over the summer, I worked specifically on the simulations that will give us such answers. What we discovered was both satisfying and surprising. Ultimately, these results led to even more questions! Come learn more about what we saw!
