Through centuries-old tales from African and African American traditions, master storyteller, instrumentalist, and singer Charlotte Blake Alston conjures beloved characters like Anansi the Spider, Sungura the Rabbit, and Br’er Fox in the most magical ways. Accompanying herself on the djembe, thumb-harp, and 21-stringed kora, Alston harnesses the power of mythology, history, and values to share stories that have been passed down, generation to generation. With warmth, wisdom, and humor, this world-renowned artist embodies the universality of fables and folklore to entertain, inspire, and instill respect within our hearts and our communities.
