The U.S Asian- American population in 2011 is 18,205,898. They make up 5.8% of the total U.S population. However, Asian American are underepresentated in the media. Though Asian Americans have always maintain a presence in the media, actors and actresses are pigeonholed into roles that encourages Asian stereotype. Come to the presentation on April 17 to learn more about Asian American Media representation and the strides and dilemmas Asian Americans face as they break through American consumerism.
