Emile Durkheim Society is returning with another installment of A&S faculty lecture series. During this lunch talk, Professor David Shulman will present on his recent research (with a coauthor) into vulnerability to deception in close relationships. He will identify biases inherent in close social relationships that lead people to underestimate the likelihood of deception, and associational dilemmas that limit people’s ability to combat and punish opportunism by close relational partners.
