Join us for the first reading group discussion in a series of events dedicated to Paul Robeson, the noted African-American actor, singer, and activist. Prof. Katherine Groo (FAMS) and Prof. Lindsay Ceballos (REES) will lead a reading discussion of a selection of Paul Robeson's autobiographical "Here I Stand." In this work, written in defiance of McCarthyist challenges to his freedom of movement and speech, Robeson formulated his call to action in the fight for racial justice, African independence, and international solidarity for class and race equality. Print copies of the reading selection are available at the library checkout desk.

Lunch will be provided.
