DESCRIPTION:Dean Spade is an Associate Professor at Seattle University Scho
 ol of Law \n[1]. He teaches Administrative Law\, Poverty Law\, and Law and
  Social \nMovements.  Prior to joining the faculty of Seattle University\,
  Dean was a \nWilliams Institute Law Teaching Fellow at UCLA Law School an
 d Harvard Law \nSchool\, teaching classes related to sexual orientation an
 d gender identity \nlaw and law and social movements.\n\nIn 2002\, Dean fo
 unded the Sylvia Rivera Law Project [2]\, a non-profit law \ncollective th
 at provides free legal services to transgender\, intersex and \ngender non
 -conforming people who are low-income and/or people of color. SRLP \nalso 
 engages in litigation\, policy reform and public education on issues \naff
 ecting these communities and operates on a collective governance model\, 
 \nprioritizing the governance and leadership of trans\, intersex\, and gen
 der \nnon-conforming people of color.\n\n From 2012 to 2014 Dean was a fel
 low in the “Engaging Tradition” project \nat Columbia Law School.  His boo
