This talk examines the meaning of the US use of atomic bombs from the Japanese perspective in the last phase of the war as well as the aftermath. It attempts to displace a US-centric vision of Japan’s surrender and presents alternative ways to look at the nuclear legacy in a trans-Pacific context. Pizza will be served.
