Dr. Mitchell received her BS in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh, a MS in Biology from Duquesne University, and a PhD in Human Genetics and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  She is currently in her 3rd year as a CRTA Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MD.  Her research interests include environmental/biological determinants of lung cancer disparities and precision medicine.  She is currently a co-investigator on a NCI study "Transcriptome Profiling of Lung Cancer in African Americans using High-Throughput RNA Sequencing", and will be teaching a course on Precision Medicine spring 2017 in the Sciences Graduate School, Bethesda, MD.
