Only Bill T. Jones can grasp the human condition with such comprehensive understanding—and release it with such power. Based on the stirring oral history of 94-year-old Dora Amelan, Jones reconstructs a Jewish woman’s memories of survival during World War II. Balancing narrative and abstraction, the account is one of bravery, hope, and vital resilience made physical by Jones’ singular instinct to elucidate memory through text, movement, design, and music. Analogy/Dora: Tramontane is dance as rhizome: planted during the performance, it will continue to spread within you well after the curtain call.

ProgramAnalogy/Dora: Tramontane, set to music by Nick Hallett performed live with Emily Manzo, choreography by Bill T. Jones, Janet Wong, and company
