David Reif, Class of ’68, has spent four decades trying jury and court cases. At this lunch, he’ll discuss the law school experience, thoughts on preparation for legal education, and what the practice of law is really about. What are the key skills needed by all lawyers, regardless of their field, and how do you acquire them? How can students begin to assess if a legal career is for them and how can they strengthen their law school candidacy?

Mr. Reif has tried dozens of civil and criminal jury cases over his career. He has been selected as one of the Top 10 Lawyers in Connecticut and top 100 Lawyers in New England for 2013, 2014, and 2015 by the Super Lawyers Directory; as a “Leader in Their Field” in Business Litigation by Chambers for 2012, 2013; 2014; and 2015; and as a member of Best Lawyers in America in 2014 and 2015 editions in the field of Commercial Litigation. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and Trial Lawyers of America – two nationwide, limited groups of trial lawyers – and has taught trial practice at the Connecticut Institute of Trial Advocacy.

Have questions about law school or legal practice? Come to lunch and talk about them.
