Sean Guillory is the creator of a suite of digital publications, ranging from an important blog to a regular podcast (Sean's Russia Blog). His work addresses a number of important questions, some of them old ones (how do we combine historical analysis with analysis of contemporary events?) and some of them new (how can historians take advantage of the opportunities presented by digital platforms?) The event will start with an on-stage discussion between Dr. Guillory and the head of the History Department, Josh Sanborn. This discussion will cover these questions and also more specific questions about contemporary Russia and the state of scholarship on Russia and Eurasia. There will be plenty of time for questions from the audience at the end!
