The Weaving Project:  A Woven Collage with Printmaking and Found Materials.

Participants will be introduced to the language of the loom in the form of weaving drafts and explore draft notation as a design element. They will paint, draw, and collage on discarded printmaking paper. Students will select two prints to weave together after altering them with found materials, bits of yarn, paper, etc. A weaving draft will be selected as a pattern in which the two altered images will be woven together. Participants are encouraged to bring materials–buttons, thread, fabric, feathers, and other supplies–they would like to incorporate into their work.

Gail Skudera's exhibition, of woven photo collages is at the Williams Center Gallery.
