Nearly every day we hear someone say that something or somebody is awesomeor that something or somebody sucks. But what exactly is it to be awesome? What is it to suck? In this presentation, I will offer a philosophical theory of awesomeness and suckiness and show how it can make sense of a wide range of ways we have of talking about suckiness and awesomeness, including being game, down, chill, wack, a thunder-stealer, self-promoter, blowhard, or killjoy. The result is a systematic theory of what I call the ethics of awesomeness, which, Ill suggest, is the ethics of our age.
