In his short time in New York, Cuban-born composer and drummer Dafnis Prieto has set loose a virtual tsunami of excitement in the jazz world. DownBeat writes of his powerhouse Sextet, “The ensemble exudes communication and excitement, and with the great harmonic and rhythmic richness of Prieto’s charts, the music packs an emotional punch.” The New York Times writes, “To hear such a world class sextet navigating this music, deep, rich, and complex, is an experience not to be forgotten.” Peter Apfelbaum and Felipe Lamoglia on saxophone, Ralph Alessi on trumpet, pianist Manuel Valera, and bassist Charles Flores round out the ensemble.
Join us for this 24th annual Easton Jazz Festival, presented in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Easton.
