We have brought a new LiNK (Liberty in North Korea) film screening event to Lafayette campus this semester! Thank you for everyone who came to the previous "People's Crisis" film screening in Fall and purchased LiNK goods directly benefiting the organization's North Korean Refugee Rescue Project. Every year thousands of North Koreans make the dangerous journey across the border to escape oppression and poverty. In March of 2005, Danny was one of them. Danny crossed into China and escaped a life of indoctrination, routine public executions, and starvation. As Danny traveled, he saw a world he never knew existed. A world where movement was not monitored by the government, information was readily available, and most importantly at the time, there was enough food to fill his empty belly. Danny is now a U.S. Citizen and he safely settled down in the state. He even participated in the recent U.S. presidential election! This new hour-long documentary is comprised of his interview and his recent journey to South Korea (visiting DMZ - border area between South and North Korea) with the film director and other LiNK staffs. We invite YOU to join us as we tour Danny’s documentary around North America. YOU have the unique opportunity to be one of the first to see “DANNY from North Korea” in the East Coast. Of course, dinner (NO PIZZA) will be provided and a short Q&A session will be followed by the screening. We will run a raffle at the end to give some LiNK goods (t-shirts/hoodies with LiNK logo) to audience.
