The community is welcome to a presentation by Michael Bornstein, one of the youngest known survivors of the Auschwitz death camp, and his daughter, TV news producer and co-author Debbie Bornstein Holinstat. Through a series of photos, recently discovered documents and memories shared, Michael and Debbie describe what happened to Jews in one Polish village in the 1940’s, and relate the unforgettable true story of how a father’s courageous wit, a mother’s fierce love, and one perfectly timed illness saved Michael’s life during the Holocaust. The story of Michael Bornstein's miraculous survival is recounted in their narrative non-fiction bestseller Survivors Club, released in March 2017. (People may recognize the iconic photo at https://i.ytimg.com/vi/WlPnoLDRxVc/mqdefault.jpg of a four-year-old Michael at liberation.)
