Van Wickle Hall, Room 108
Presenter:
Andrew Bush, Associate Professor of Paleobiology, Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Center for Integrative Geosciences, University of Connecticut
Andy Bush is a paleobiologist who focuses his research on major events and trends in the evolution of marine ecosystems through deep time. He has published extensively in the field of paleoecology, including studies of the earliest animal communities, the change in ecological complexity through the past 550 million years, and the quality of the fossil record itself. His talk will feature his study of field exposures of Late Devonian marine fossils in New York State and Pennsylvania and what they can tell us of a major extinction event ~370 million years ago.
