DESCRIPTION:Brooklyn poet\, scholar\, and multi-instrumentalist Alicia Jo R
 abins and her \nband\, Girls in Trouble\, present an art-rock song cycle t
 hat mines dark \nstories of biblical women\, conjuring up androgynous stor
 m demons\, jealous \nsisters and knife accidents. A classically trained vi
 olinist since the age of \nthree\, Alicia grew up practicing Bach and snea
 king out to Baltimore punk \nshows. She began touring at eighteen and in 2
 004 joined the groundbreaking \nfolk-punk group Golem\, which reinterprets
  traditional Gypsy and klezmer tunes \nwith a rock edge. In 2009 she was s
 elected by the State Department to be a \nmusical ambassador for the Unite
 d States as a violinist\, singer\, and teaching \nartist\, and performed i
 n Nicaragua\, Belize\, Honduras\, El Salvador\, and \nGuatemala as the ban
 dleader of the Hoppin’ John String Band. Girls in \nTrouble fuses American
  folk ballads with underground rock to provide \ncommentary on biblical ba
 d girls ranging from the popular to the obscure. \nAlicia draws on years o
 f study in Israel and a MA in Jewish Women’s Studies \nfrom the Jewish The
 ological Seminary.\nA free vegetarian community dinner with the band will 
 be held at 6pm at \nHillel House (524 Clinton Terrace\, Easton PA). A Q&A 
 with the band will \nimmediately follow the one-hour concert. Doors open a
