The Lafayette Chamber Orchestra's spring concert under the direction of Stephani Bell, will feature music written for strings by Boccherini, Shostakovich and Philip Glass. This concert is a mix of conductor-less playing and guidance from a conductor. Boccherini's and Shostakovisches pieces, originally written for string quartet and quintet gives the orchestra the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to play as a large chamber ensemble. The Glass piece, also written for strings, will be performed with the guidance of guest conductor Dr. Jennifer Kelly.
