Caspar Tarpinian, an Armenian subject of the Ottoman Empire in Turkey, emigrated to the United States in the early 20th century, but after the deportation and extermination of Armenians began in 1915, Caspar returned to Turkey to help his family. Along with 1.5 million others, he perished in the Armenian Genocide. His great niece, Rachel Srubas, author of "Never Forget, Never Tell: An Armenian American's Dilemma of Memory," will present images and reflections from her ancestral pilgrimage in Turkey.

This guest speaker will set the context for the evening's event:

Celebration of Armenian Divine Liturgy, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

Wednesday, April 8, 2015 - 7:00pm in Colton Chapel

This service will offer an opportunity for the Lafayette community to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
