Join three prominent choreographers as we explore the intersections between dance and spirit. Why do we dance? Can dance become a spiritual practice? We’ll discuss ways in which dance has historically been used as prayer; panelists will look at how dance continues to break down borders between body, heart and mind; and we’ll move together, exploring how dance might unite people of all faiths. Panelists include award-winning modern/Afro-Caribbean dance choreographer Ronald K. Brown, renowned choreographer, yoga teacher and Urban Zen Integrative Therapist Keely Garfield, and Odissi choreographer, dancer and Lafayette College Assistant Professor of film and media studies Nandini Sikand. Panel moderated by Ben Munisteri, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Choreographer-in-Residence.

Lunch will be provided.
