On Tuesday October 28th, Corey Mead will give a talk entitled “All But War is Simulation: War, Education, and Video Games.” The talk will consider the various ways the U.S. military has employed video games as learning tools to do everything from testing combat skills to teaching cultural awareness. An Assistant Professor of English at CUNY-Baruch, Mead’s 2013 book War Play profiled the ways the military has fueled the adoption of games as learning tools and the impact that adoption is set to have on education systems. The talk will begin at 4:15 in Kirby 104.
